GENERAL MOTORS CHANGES THE NAME OF ITS GMC TRUCKS AND SUVS

Detroit - General Motors president Mary Barra today announced that the company is changing the name of the high-end GMC Truck and SUV model from "Denali" to "McKinley."  "I received a telephone call from President Trump today, who told me that he was surprised and unhappy that our vehicles have continued to be marketed with the Denali model label, since he officially changed the name of the former Mt. Denali to Mt. McKinley earlier this year."

Ms. Barra apologized for the oversight and said that she has ordered all of the affected vehicles to bear the. McKinley model name tag.  "I have also assured our beloved president that not only will the new vehicles bear the McKinley label, but we will issue a recall to change the model tag on all vehicles manufactured after the name of the mountain was changed.  Additionally, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the Gulf of America is properly shown on the navigation system of all of our vehicles."

Ms. Berra said that the seventy-five thousand "Denali" model tags  in our inventory will be recycled or donated to the indigenous
tribes in Alaska.
